The Symbol Of Life

The symbol of life, purusha and prakriti is defined through the steep peak of the Parvat. Also the sign of purity the swastika emerges on the peak. It is believed that the early settlers, those of the Bon faith, in the Kailash region call Kailash ‘Nine-Story Swastika Mountain’. The swastika is a religious symbol from the Bon religion. As the sun sets, the shadows cast by the massive vertical ice fissures and horizontal rock layers on its southern slope form a (partial) left-facing swastika symbol. The bottom half is crystal clear; the top half, above the snow line, is not.
